IV NUTRITION THERAPY

WHAT IS IV NUTRITION THERAPY?
Intravenous infusion therapy is a method of delivering nutrients directly into our blood stream resulting in 100% absorption of various combinations of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and some pharmaceuticals. There are hundreds of various IV “cocktails” or protocols depending on a patient’s specific health needs.
Many people are familiar with the famous Myer’s Cocktail, developed by the late Dr. John Myers, a physician from Baltimore Maryland during the 1970’s. Practitioners have been using variations of the Myer’s cocktail for over 50 years, however during the last 10 years amazing advances in IV nutrition therapy have been made such as specialized detoxification and anti-aging protocols.
WHAT CONDITIONS CAN BE TREATED WITH IV THERAPY?
There are a broad range of chronic and acute conditions that are treated with IV therapy. Patients with mal-absorption conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s, celiac disease, and those who have undergone gastric bypass surgery have a very difficult time absorbing nutrients because of a compromised gut lining. Even with a perfectly healthy gastrointestinal system, the absorption or oral vitamins, minerals and other nutrients ranges only between 10-30%! This is why patients feel so incredible after an IV nutrient infusion. You feel immediate results the day of your infusion.
Other conditions treated with IV nutrition therapy include pain disorders like fibromyalgia and autoimmune disorders such as chronic dermatitis which are complicated by a constant state of inflammation. “Autoimmune diseases cause severe depletion of vital cellular nutrients and resources which are used up in the battel to fight an infection, real or imagined” (Ghen, 2012). IV therapy acts to decrease oxidative stress and inflammation caused by autoimmune disorders by replacing vital nutrients at the cellular level where they are needed most.
The slowing of aging with IV nutrition infusions has prompted many patients to seek out this therapy. Our most potent antioxidant, glutathione, works by enhancing the immune system, protecting our cells by neutralizing free radicals, helping to regulate other antioxidants like Vitamin C, and by helping remove toxic compounds from our cells. It is involved in many metabolic and repair processes such as hormone synthesis and it is also a powerful antioxidant. Glutathione infusions not only help with skin conditions such as melasma, but also help with memory and cognition. It is no wonder that our glutathione infusions are our most popular treatment.
